It was from the federal office..Informing me that I had to attend as soon as possible.. I had a bad feeling for way the wanted me to go..

I couldn’t find my sleep.. So early in the morning I led myself  to the head offices.. I was accompanied  to the district officer.. “ Would you like a refreshement”  I was asked by his secretary.. No thank you I replied.. The officer came soon after my arrival..He was holding a file..I had a bad feeling..Mr.Pappas I sadly have to inform you that your brother has fallen in battle…How can be so blunt.. Everything we do it’s based on what he requested , in case he of his death.. My condolences.. it’s how he wanted it..You need to know that all of his belongings are passed to you plus his savings..he must have been very close..All of the paper work will be done us.. Within the week you will be notified, in order for you to make the acceptance…You will be escorted to your work..Thank you but this is not necessary..I’m accustomed to find my way around the city..  As you wish.. We’ll be in touch.                                              He had been through a lot. Many times he had deceived death.. But eventually  it caught up with him..The ceremony was to be held in a few days from now.. I had to make all the preparations ..So the whole week I was preoccupied with this…His casket would be empty..He was cremated..I remember him saying this a long time ago…It was announced to everyone and many came ..The hardest moment was when I had to read his obituary .. Mother  fainted…father was drinking his pain.. My cousin Suzan my beside me giving me the support that was so much needed.  She had just come from overseas..She was in need of accommodation..So she stayed at my place.. My background is Greek. The principle that applies that we have  very strong bonds.   It’s what kept as unified ..as a culture..                                 I had taken I long leave from work…I needed to revaluate my state of mind..  Many thoughts and past deeds  were tormenting me…The family had been devastated for many generations.. From the days of the occupation  in Minor Asia till when we got here 3 generations ago.. The future didn’t seem to be promising..Something or someone had to turn the tides.  Father told me that he wanted me put some time in the family business. It could be something that could be done, because clearly I couldn’t return to the office.. I inherited more than I expected from Apollo. .I had an idea to include Susan in the family store..She had more experience from a professional point of view..She was fond of the idea……..
